Wekafore is one of the most versatile artists in the Catalan capital. Designing, singing, and entrepreneurship are some of the skills that Wekafore has, not only had a go at, but mastered.

The young Barcelona resident presented his new capsule collection entitled, ‘Ultra Witchcraft’. This collection has been created as a kind of interpretation of minimalism and Afrofuturism based on their sportswear designs.

Wekafore has been pursuing its objective for some time, which is to build an African aesthetic adapted to contemporary fashion, but without losing the traditional essence, that is, to show an adaptation of current Afrofuturism based on the principles of African culture, “before Americanization ”.

One of the traditions that is part of African culture is spirituality. Wekafore, seeks to implant these beliefs in his art, and raises a question “What if in the future there were machines that could connect us directly with the spiritual world, like a wireless network?”. It is very easy to see that Wekafore’s perspective is about creating that link between the future and the past of traditions, and that question was what inspired him to create his sportswear line.

‘Ultra Witchcraft’ aims to demystify and enhance the concept imposed on magic and African witchcraft. Something that in previous collections we have already been able to observe. ‘The Spirit Series’ was a selection from his previous collections, where Wekafore explores and shows what the future of African spirituality will be for him.
