“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see”
With this quote of American Philosopher Henry David Thoreau, UNTITLED COLLECTIVE has built the foundations for their new Spring/Summer 2022 collection, MUSEUM VISITORS. A collection that is all about opening up our horizons, exploring new perspectives and interests.
Most of all, however, MUSEUM VISITORS revolves around the extraordinary phenomenon onset by artfully curated impressions, where dormant, unknown feelings surface, and break against us like impactful, eye-opening waves.
You might remember UNTITLED COLLECTIVE from their FW21 collection, ‘Sartorial Adolescence’, a stunning re-imagination of workwear combining the uncertain fluidity of youth with the powerful, high-fashion aesthetic that young, ambitious people deserve. Well, they’re back, and they’ve returned as reflective and poignant as ever.
MUSEUM VISITORS was inspired by, you guessed it, museums. New York’s museums and galleries to be precise.
The pandemic has caused a paradigm shift where these artful spaces are at limited capacity and we now have an opportunity to experience individual feelings of creativeness and undiscovered perceptions.

Even in the midst of a sanitary crisis, museum visitors kept finding their way to history and culture filled halls, rooms, and corners, all over the city that never sleeps. The limited capacity had the captivating consequence of making us more aware of our surroundings, of the spaces we occupy. The previously subtle relationship between artwork and visitors, became apparent. And the connection between every single individual absorbed by the same atmosphere became undeniable.
The line, shape, and dimension inspired brand went for relaxed tailoring for this collection, as means of creating a space in which men’s body figures and their movements could be appreciated, and even understood. There is an evident contrast and balancing of masculinity and femininity, as one would expect from such a forward-thinking brand.
The looks sit on that delicate line of appearing both dressed up, yet also dressed down. A strange, yet fitting equilibrium exacerbated by the combination of matte and shiny leather pieces. A simplicity, accentuated just the right way. At this point, a signature notion of the brand.
